Richard Allinson is Stannah’s entertainment aficionado. With his passion for music and illustrious radio career, no one is better placed to shine a light on the glittering world of entertainment and its remarkable impact on our lives.
Richard is passionate about music, radio and all things broadcast. He first started in radio broadcast while at university where he was studying for his degree in Law. His career really took off in 1997 when he joined BBC Radio 2 presenting the Monday – Thursday late-night show from 10.30 pm to midnight. Since then, he’s worked on numerous BBC local radio shows and stood in for the likes of Chris Evans, Sir Terry Wogan, Ken Bruce and Steve Wright.
These days, you can catch Richard on Scala Radio where he hosts the evening show from 7 – 10 pm. If classical music isn’t your thing, you can also find Richard on Greatest Hits Radio on a Saturday afternoon where he plays hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Away from his radio life, Richard enjoys messing about with old boats and cars, cooking, playing the piano and looking after his three sons. He also admits to owning too much vinyl, four turntables and more shoes than one man should admit to.
