Essendon’s entire playing list made visits to schools in the North-West region of Melbourne on Monday morning

The club has a long, proud history of supporting the growth of junior football and getting out to schools in the region, which has played a key role in the development of its students for many years.

Split into multiple groups, Bomber players made it to 18 separate schools alongside AFL Victoria, ranging from Broadmeadows and Pascoe Vale to Mickleham, running football clinics and education sessions with students.

“As a club, we take a great deal of pride in supporting our local area on all fronts,” Essendon CEO Craig Vozzo said.

“We’ve placed a big emphasis on getting out to the community and building upon the relationships we’ve established with the people and schools of that area. It’s integral that we keep using our platform to grow the game at all levels, and that starts on our doorstep.

“Hosting clinics for these kids at a young age not only benefits participation levels for the sport, but it also introduces them to a healthy lifestyle and a positive team environment. The players and staff also get such a lift out of bringing smiles to these children’s faces on the day.

“The more we stay involved in these community initiatives, the better the outcomes for all involved.”

With the club’s region one of the fastest growing corridors in the country, the Bombers will continue to extend resources and stay active with an exciting future ahead in the community space.

The Bombers joined forces with Dallas Football Club to promote involvement in local football earlier this year as the club embarked on its first season in the Essendon District Football League.
