With Ja’Marcus Bradley headed to the injured reserve, the St. Louis Battlehawks have brought back Jeff Thomas, who was released earlier this season. Thomas didn’t play in any snaps for St. Louis yet this year, having been cut to make room for Jahcour Pearson.
Jeff Thomas has had a couple of stints in pro football already, outside of his time spent with the Battlehawks. He was with the Pittsburgh Maulers during the 2022 season, recording a couple of catches early on.
The East St. Louis native made his return to the city, being signed by St. Louis in January. In his college career, Jeff posted 1,316 receiving yards and eight touchdowns at Miami. He contributed on special teams as well, racking up almost 1,500 KR/PR yards across that span.
As the St. Louis Battlehawks approach the playoffs, bringing back Thomas makes the most sense. He’s already familiar with Bruce Gradkowski’s system, and spent time with the organization in Training Camp – and, the first few weeks of the season – even though he wasn’t active.
The St. Louis Battlehawks will face off against the San Antonio Brahmas this Saturday, to see who will earn the XFL Conference Title.
