Malaysia Super League side Kuching City FC has officially called off its move to secure the services of Ghanaian forward Jordan Mintah from Terengganu FC.
The potential loan deal for the Ghanaian gained momentum after the 27-year-old was sidelined by Terengganu FC’s manager, Tomislav Steinbruckner.
A reported verbal altercation between Mintah and the Croatian-born coach regarding penalty kick issues during the FA Cup semi-final against Kuala Lumpur City FC added fuel to the speculations
The forward was reportedly eager to join the Sarawak-based club.
However, financial constraints have now forced the experienced coach to shelve the plans.
Coach Irfan Bakti admitted that the club had to make a tough call due to financial limitations, ultimately leading to the cancellation of the deal.
“We were genuinely interested in securing Mintah’s services, but due to financial reasons, we had to cancel the plan,” Coach Irfan Bakti explained.
