The Chicago Sky picked up their fourth win in the past six game after upsetting the Seattle Storm 88-84. Sky guard Chennedy Carter put 33 points while forward Angel Reese scored a season-high 27 points with 10 rebounds.
Reese extended her double-double streak to 12 games, tying Candace Parker’s WNBA record. The LSU is firmly in the race to be named the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year, which is turning into a tight battle against Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark.
After defeating the Storm, Carter made it extremely clear that she doesn’t think the ROY race is close at all.

“Barbie is Rookie of the Year,” Carter announced. “There’s no other way to put it. She goes out. She does her work every single night no matter what team we’re facing. I’m telling you. Barbie is Rookie of the Year.”
Reese was named the WNBA’s Rookie of the Month for June after averaging 14.5 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. Clark earned the award in May, averaging 17.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game.
Clark, the No. 1 overall pick, also became the fastest player in WNBA history to record 300+ points with 100+ rebounds and 100+ assists.
Both Reese and Clark were named to the All-Star roster as rookies, during which they will be teammates and play against Team USA on July 20.
