Celtic are expected to strengthen their centre-back ranks this summer. But before that, it looks like the club are busy shuffling some of the options they already have there. Bosun Lawal is on the verge of a permanent move to Stoke City. On the other hand, another central defender has departed Parkhead on loan.

One player who had unexpectedly featured early on in the Ange Postecoglou era was Dane Murray. The squad was paper-thin at the time and the youngster ended up appearing in a couple of Champions League qualifying matches against FC Midtjylland.

Murray actually impressed people with those two displays and many believed that he had earned himself future opportunities. Unfortunately, the 21-year-old has not made a single senior appearance for Celtic since then.

He will be spending time away from Parkhead in the 24/25 campaign. As tweeted by Celtic FC B, Murray has joined Scottish Championship side Queens Park on a season long-loan.

Celtic officially announce departure of centre-back on loan
Murray is 21 years old now and needs to be playing regular football if he is to fulfil the early promise he had showed. Hopefully, he wil get consistent chances Queens Park.

There are other Celtic centre-backs who could be heading out this summer. Yuki Kobayashi did not make a single appearance last season and it would make sense for everyone for him to find a new club.

While Kobayashi was signed by Celtic during the Postecoglou era, Gustaf Lagerbielke was brought in last summer. The Swedish international did have his moments for sure, including scoring a winner in the Champions League and keeping a clean sheet away at Ibrox. But overall, it does not feel like he has any sort of future at Parkhead.

Stephen Welsh has been linked with a move away as well. But for the time being, it does not look like Celtic are ready for that.
