Leicester City have reportedly agreed an £8.5million deal to sign Wolves defender Conor Coady.

The 30-year-old spent last season on loan at Everton and the Toffees had an option to buy the defender for £4.5m this summer. But Sean Dyche’s side have opted not to trigger that clause and Wolves have seemingly increased their valuation of the England centre-back.

Coady made 24 Premier League appearances last season for Everton and played a key role in their successful relegation battle which saw them stay up at the Foxes’ expense.

And our colleagues at BirminghamLive report that a fee has been agreed which will see Wolves receive an initial £7.5m fee for their former skipper, plus a further £1m if City are promoted back to the top flight.

The centre-back is said to undergo a medical on Thursday as new City boss Enzo Maresca looks to rebuild the Leicester squad with several big name departures expected. James Maddison and Harvey Barnes are set to join Youri Tielemans out of the door over the next few months.

Coady could become the Foxes’ first summer signing and they have also been linked with a move for Manchester City goalkeeper Zack Steffen and Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks.
