Once more, Collingwood comes through in a clutch situation! Star secures another timeless victory as Crows embroiled in additional controversy with umpires.

Kuwarna narrowly lost to Collingwood in a thrilling match at the MCG on Saturday afternoon, with a final score of 12.6 (78) to 11.8 (74).

The Magpies have won five out of their last six games, although they faced another controversial decision against the Crows.

Following their draw with Brisbane last Sunday, the Crows once again could not come out on top in intense final moments when Izak Rankine was deemed to have run too much in the dying stages while attempting to kick to Kuwarna inside the 50-meter zone with only seconds remaining.

From just before half-time until early in the final quarter, both teams traded goals before Mitch Hinge broke the deadlock with a 52-metre kick to bring Adelaide within six points.

After Rankine scored a goal by bursting past opponents and dribbling along the ground from the boundary, the Crows regained the lead with 7:15 remaining, marking the first time since the first quarter.

The ball resided in Adelaide’s forward area as the Crows ended the game strongly and appeared poised to overpower the Magpies, but at the 25-minute mark, Isaac Quaynor made a vital block, preventing Ben Keays from scoring a potential game-winning goal.

During the chaotic play, Harrison, Quaynor, Crisp, and Daicos passed the ball through the center to set up De Goey, who scored to give Collingwood a two-point lead with less than two minutes left.

Adelaide had a final opportunity with 16 seconds remaining as Rankine made a quick run along the wing. However, he was penalized for not bouncing the ball after running too far, and furthermore, he injured his hamstring while taking the kick.

Collingwood has emerged victorious in the last nine matches against Adelaide, with a winning streak of 7-0 since 2020.

The Crows have not won any of their five games at the MCG since the beginning of 2020.
