In a thrilling showdown, the No. 5 Nebraska Cornhuskers showcased their prowess on Sunday, delivering a decisive 25-16, 25-17, 25-20 victory against No. 4 Louisville at the KFC Yum! Center. The match drew an enthusiastic crowd of 14,126 fans, who witnessed Nebraska’s impressive performance, marking their second win of the week against a top-five opponent.

With this victory, the Huskers improved their season record to 10-1, achieving their first road sweep over a top-five team since February 21, 2021, against Minnesota. Conversely, Louisville fell to 8-2 following a challenging outing against the relentless Nebraska

Nebraska’s dominance was evident from the start, particularly in their serving game. The Huskers delivered an impressive seven aces, while Louisville struggled to register any. Defensively, Nebraska was a formidable force, recording nine blocks and limiting the Cardinals to a mere .133 hitting percentage, effectively stifling their offensive efforts.

On the attack, Nebraska showcased balanced scoring, led by Harper Murray, who recorded 11 kills. Merritt Beason made significant contributions as well, notching nine kills with an impressive .364 hitting percentage, along with four blocks. Andi Jackson further bolstered the offense, hitting .545 with six kills and four blocks, while Lindsay Krause added five kills to the mix.

Setting the tempo for the Huskers, Bergen Reilly delivered 25 assists alongside six digs, four kills, and two blocks, orchestrating the offense with precision. Defensively, Lexi Rodriguez stood out with a team-high eight digs, while Rebekah Allick anchored the front line with five blocks.

For Louisville, Anna DeBeer led her team with 12 kills, but the Cardinals struggled to find their rhythm against Nebraska’s stifling defense. Charitie Luper and Sofia Maldonado Diaz each contributed eight kills but were unable to spark a comeback.

As the match progressed, it became clear that Nebraska was not only competing but also asserting themselves as a serious contender in the NCAA landscape.
