Leeds United will have a new front-of-shirt sponsor on their kit as they take on the Championship in 2023/24, ditching SBOTOP for BOXT.
Cogs are turning behind the scenes at Elland Road as we wait for official confirmation from the club that the 49ers Enterprises’ takeover has been green-lit by the EFL.
It doesn’t mean that the club is at a standstill with a patient wait for this update from the league, as confirmation comes later this week, hopefully.
Leeds 23/24 new kit sponsor announced
With the club still being supplied with their kit for next season by sports giants Adidas, leaks have already emerged with how the home strip is going to be designed, with the three stripes still donning the club for a fourth year, as FootyHeadlines.com leaked:
However, more details have been confirmed from the club now, with Leeds revealing that BOXT are to become the club’s principle partner, meaning they will take the place as the front-of-shirt sponsor.
They will be replacing three-year gambling sponsorship SBOTOP, who were on the shirt throughout Leeds’ three seasons in the Premier League.
What will the sponsor look like?
BOXT have previously been part of the strip with Leeds, taking up a sleeve sponsorship slot in the 21/22 season, but will now be front and centre.
Their profile picture caused some concerns, with the Leeds-based firm having a red logo for their company, but they responded swiftly to these comments to put minds at ease:
No chance a Leeds-based company would want red on the sponsorship, nor would the club even think of doing it.
Our affiliation with the colour red might be tested, though, with the club now being owned by an NFL franchise that wear red and white.
You would hope that their commercial intelligence would see them not even entertain the thought of having red on the kit or anywhere really.
