Nottingham Forest are interested in snapping up Galatasaray winger Kerem Akturkoglu with an €11million offer now on the table.

That is according to a report from Turkish newspaper Takvim, who claim that Forest are pushing to land Akturkoglu this summer.

It’s stated that Forest have now offered €11million (£9.5million) plus add-ons in the hope of signing Akturkoglu.

However, Galatasaray have rejected that offer, believing that Akturkoglu is worth much more.

The report claims that Forest have been watching Akturkoglu for six months now and have decided to make a move.

The first offer was rejected but it’s claimed that Forest are ‘certain’ to make another bid in the coming days.

Akturkoglu is thought to be interested in playing in the Premier League but isn’t going to try and force Galatasaray into selling.

An offer from Lyon is now thought to be imminent too although Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk is desperate to keep Akturkoglu.

The Turkish media can be very hit and miss when it comes to transfer stories but they seem very confident that Forest are making their move.

Who is Nottingham Forest target Kerem Akturkoglu?

Akturkoglu has been on quite the journey in his career, starting out with little-known Turkish sides Golcukspor and Hisareynspor.

Basaksehir brought Akturkoglu in as a teenager but didn’t given him any first-team minutes, instead sending him on loan to Bodrumspor in Turkey’s third tier.

A permanent move to Karacabey materialised in 2018 and, just a year later, he was off to yet another third-tier side in 24 Erzincanspor.

Few could have predicted him becoming a star at that point but it all clicked there as Akturkoglu racked up 20 goals in 34 games.

Akturkoglu finally got his big break, completing a 2020 move to Galatasaray as he jumped from the third tier to the giants of Turkish football.

Akturkoglu hasn’t let Galatasaray down, notching 29 goals and 30 assists in 119 games for the club – including 10 goals and 14 assists last season.

Predominantly a left-sided winger, Akturkoglu loves to cut inside on his right foot and go past defenders with ease.

The 24-year-old has been branded a ‘magician’ in Turkey and could end up bringing his wizardry to the City Ground this summer.
