TRAGIC NEWS: Jeff Lynne’s Elo send’sDevastating  news to all die hard fans

Jeff Lynne’s ELO–formerly known as just Electric Light Orchestra–has announced a new tour. Fans of the band, both die-hard and casual, will want to make sure to catch this run of shows, as they have revealed that it will be their last.

The rock band’s aptly-titled The Over and Out Tour is scheduled to begin on August 24, 2024, in Palm Desert, CA. The run will take them across the U.S. for the late summer and fall. Currently, the streak is expected to conclude in Los Angeles, CA, on October 25.

A special artist presale for tickets begins this coming Thursday (june 20). A more all-inclusive sale will begin on Saturday (june 22), according to a release shared by a representative for the band.

Electric Light Orchestra launched in 1970, and their debut album came out at the end of 1971. Jeff Lynne took over control of the group shortly after they released their first full-length, and he held onto his role as the lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist for many years. Throughout their decades together–which were spattered with a number of hiatuses–they scored 20 top 40 hits on the Hot 100.

In 2014, the band reunited in a new form, and with a new name. Instead of Electric Light Orchestra, they were rebranded as Jeff Lynne’s ELO, which put the singer front-and-center–even more so than he’d already been.

Jeff Lynne’s ELO released two albums under that name. In 2015, they dropped Alone in the Universe, which peaked at No. 4 in the rocker’s home country of the U.K. They returned in 2019 with From Out of Nowhere, which gave the group another No. 1 in the nation.
