Latest Wolves transfer news as the club reportedly turn down a £30m bid from Napoli for defender Max Kilman amid interest from Tottenham
Wolves have reportedly rejected a€35million (£30m) bid from Napoli for defender Max Kilman.
The 26-year-old has made 107 appearances for the club since joining from Maidenhead in 2018, and has now been the subject of a huge bid from Serie A. That’s according to The Athletic, who say Wolves have turned down the offer from Napoli, and also add that “Wolves will not accept less than €40m” for the defender.
It’s said that Napoli see Kilman as replacement for Bayern Munich-bound Kim Min-jae, and they have now made their move. Kilman is said to be “open to staying” at Molineux, relaxing fears about his future. The club will be keen to keep hold of Kilman after losing Conor Coady to Leicester for £7.5m this summer, while agreeing a £23m fee with Brentford for the sale of Nathan Collins.
It is not the first time Kilman has been linked with an exit this summer, as Tottenham have been credited with interest in the former futsal player, who broke into non-league football and then rose to prominence at Wolves. He is under contract until 2026, with a further year option, and is in no rush to leave. That leaves the ball firmly in Wolves’ court.
It was said earlier this summer that Wolves were “open” to selling Kilman for £30m, but with Coady and now Collins moving in, it looks like they may have changed their stance on a potential sale.
If Wolves were to lose Kilman this summer, it would leave Ki-Jana Hoever, Craig Dawson and Toti as the only senior defenders at the football club.
