Robin Koch has confirmed his exit from Leeds United this evening as he joins Eintracht Frankfurt on loan.
The Whites are likely to see a lot of their first team players heavily linked with transfer exits this summer, with a decent chunk pursuing new opportunities post-relegation.
Their defence wasn’t worth any praise during the 22/23 season, but Robin Koch looks to have secured himself a swift exit.
Koch to Frankfurt confirmed
Robin Koch was due for a medical today ahead of a loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt – per Phil Hay – and that looks to have gone through without a hitch.
The centre-back has now taken to Twitter to share a farewell message for the Leeds fans following a three-year stay at Elland Road:
A loan deal for Koch to move back to the Bundesliga means Leeds won’t receive a transfer fee for the 26-year-old, with his contract set to expire in 12 months next summer.
He didn’t want to stay, it was very obvious by his delays to pen a new deal like Diego Llorente and Jack Harrison did.
It’s not a deal that many fans are going to be that fussed about, given his overall struggles in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, we’ll have Charlie Cresswell now vying for a starting spot under Daniel Farke and most would be happy with that.
