Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho is a subject of interest to Tottenham Hotspur

According to GIVEMESPORT (h/t Manchester Evening News), Tottenham Hotspur have contacted Manchester United over the availability of 23-year-old superstar Jadon Sancho.

Sancho has been dividing opinions among supporters of whether he should be given another season or let go if the right price comes along for the player.

Sancho was one of the standout players in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund during his time at Germany and many expected him to thrive for United once his move was formalised after the club chased him for two years.

However, the move did not materialise as either party expected with Sancho failing to kick on from what was a very promising start to his professional career.

While it is understandable that his first season at the club was filled with turmoil with regard to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking followed by the turbulent times under Ralf Rangnick.

Erik Ten Hag brought stability back to the club and this directly contributed to an increased level of performance by almost all players. Ten Hag was even willing to sanction a mid-season break for Sancho to rediscover his form and fitness.

However, there was not much change in the performances after, particularly in the FA Cup final against Manchester City where he looked devoid of ideas, threat and creativity. Something which his replacement, Alejandro Garnacho, instantly provided.

The coming season is expected to be a breakthrough season for Garnacho while if we sign a striker, then Rashford would play off the left.

With Antony expected to play from the right and being the first choice, there seems to be an impasse on how Sancho will be able to resurrect his career at Old Trafford.

Still, he is young and there is potential so we can never have an absolute idea of what a player can achieve. Maybe he can pull something like Rashford and have a magnificent season for United.

Therefore, it would be a wiser decision to give at least one more year to the winger and then decide whether he is of the level required to play for United. He cost us £73million, after all.
