Leeds United and the 49ers Enterprises are hoping that they are able to keep hold of Tyler Adams in the Championship for next season.

As pre-season action gets underway tomorrow for Leeds, plenty of speculation is still rife around a host of the senior players at Elland Road.

The club still boasts a number of internationals that they intend on keeping for the Championship promotion bid this season.

Tyler Adams to stay?

Now, The Mirror are reporting that the 49ers Enterprises are “hopeful” that they can keep hold of Tyler Adams this summer for the 23/24 season in the EFL.

Adams was arguably Leeds’ best and most consistent player during their 22/23 season that ultimately ended with relegation, not helped by his season-ending injury in late March.

The USMNT skipper is not without interest in his signature and has a decision to make as Leeds set their stall out to try to keep him.

Who wants to sign him?

So far, Aston Villa appear to be the most keen on signing him this summer, with The Athletic claiming of Unai Emery’s interest in the defensive midfielder.

How much they would pay remains to be seen, although the Shields Gazette have claimed that Leeds would be keen to double their £20million outlay on him last summer by bringing in £40million.

Adams would be an immense coup for us to keep in the Championship, but the money might end up helping us reinvest in a more balance manner.

Someone like Adams is a lot easier to replace than someone like Luis Sinisterra or Jack Harrison, who also could leave.

If we can bring in more than £30million for Adams, we need to be considering whether it’s best to cash in on him.
