Tottenham Hotspur defender Ryan Sessegnon has suffered yet another injury blow having been left to undergo hamstring surgery.
The player sustained the latest issue during pre-season training with Ange Postecoglou’s side, who are set to jet off to Australia on Friday to begin their preparations for the campaign ahead.
The left wing-back sat out the end of last season due to a hamstring issue that sidelined him from February, missing 19 game in the process in the latest of a frustrating record of hamstring problems (transfermarkt).
The club confirmed in a statement on their website: “Ryan Sessegnon has undergone surgery to his left hamstring following an injury sustained in pre-season training.

“Having previously suffered with his hamstring it is anticipated that the surgery following this injury will provide a permanent solution to the problem.
“Ryan will not be available for our upcoming pre-season tour but will continue to be closely monitored by our medical team to determine when he can return to training.”
Ange Postecoglou confirmed at yesterday’s press conference that goalkeeper Fraser Forster will not make the trip to Australia due to a back injury and will remain in England along with Rodrigo Bentancur, who continues his rehabilitation from his knee operation (Football.London).
