We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Everton...

The Everton medical staff are unlikely to have any issues while sanctioning a potential deal for ex Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert reacts as there have been a few recurring setbacks in his career thus far, especially with back-to-back thigh concerns in the 2022/23 season.

Apart from that, he’s also had hamstring concerns over the past, but his absence has not been for a significant period of time to cause any real worries.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Goodison News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said, “Looking at his injury history, it’s overall not that alarming.

“Yes, a few repeat injuries but no overly major ones that kept him out for extended periods of time.

“Could be a shrewd move for a team with limited finances and there should not be any hold up from the medical team.”

Football Transfers reported on 12 July that the Toffees have a three-man shortlist for a new striker this summer.

Tottenham back into the fold to rival Arsenal, Man Utd for deadly striker Moussa Dembele

Along with Dembele, Leicester’s Jamie Vardy has been mentioned, and it remains to be seen if Leeds United’s Willy Gnonto is being eyed as a striker or wide attacker.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury woes make it all the more important for the Toffees to bring in someone who’s not susceptible to setbacks down the line.

Dembele’s won the London Football League Player of the Year award in 2016 and also has multiple Player of the Month honours at Celtic, so he will come to Goodison Park with plenty of experience under his belt.
