Leeds United are looking increasingly likely to keep hold of winger Luis Sinisterra this summer, looking to fend off interest to build around the Colombian international this season.

Daniel Farke’s side need to get to work in terms of bringing in new signings this month, as the start of the Championship season draws nearer, but retentions are going to be vital too.

In the attack, Farke is blessed with some of the best talent in the Championship, having inherited the side that finished 19th in the Premier League last term.

Luis Sinisterra to stay?

Off the back of the LeedsAllOver opinion piece based on why Leeds should be doing everything to keep Luis Sinisterra this summer, Colombian outlet AS are now claiming that the club are set to see a U-turn in their chances of retaining the winger:

“Luis Sinisterra’s future at Leeds seems to have changed in recent weeks. Despite the fact that the team’s relegation to the English Football Championship cast doubt on the continuity of the Colombian for next season, the winger could continue in England and be a key man in search of promotion to the Premier League.”

Who wants to sign him?

Links to the winger haven’t been incredibly strong since the start of the summer window, with the above report outlining that AC Milan have been interested previously.

However, they have since signed a left-winger in the shape of Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic, taking up a crucial non-EU place in the Serie A side’s squad.

“However, although Leeds would be willing to sell it to try to make cash after the relegation, the team counts on him and maintains the hopes of maintaining it and thus fighting for the return to the Premier League.”

Keeping Sinisterra is some of the best business that we could manage this summer, and we’d be setting ourselves up for a very exciting season.

He would be one of the best players in the division next season, and building around players of that calibre is huge.

Keeping him fit is another massive hurdle for us after his first season in England, but a better pre-season setup under Farke will help.
