Everton ready to table specific offer to sign 16-goal star – Toffees ‘working to convince’ chairman
On July 22nd, La Nazione stated Everton have come forward to sign Salernitana’s Boulaye Dia. It was also said the Serie A side have set a €40m asking price after his release clause expired last week.
The Toffees are keen on signing the striker and are ‘working to convince’ the Italian club’s chairman, Danilo Iervolino, to sanction his sale.
That’s according to La Città di Salerno, who state Iervolino would ‘gladly keep’ the 26-year-old for one more season.
At the same time, there’s a possibility for the Senegal international to change clubs if Salernitana were to receive a tempting proposal, also if a player is included in the deal, possibly to replace Dia.
The report states Sean Dyche’s side are working on this formula to convince Iervolino. It’s claimed Everton are ready to table an offer of at least €25m and include Neal Maupay as part of the deal to sign the the Salernitana star.
Maupay has long been a ‘goal’ of Salernitana sporting director Morgan De Sanctis and the latter has been in contact with the Merseyside club for the former Brighton & Hove Albion man. La Città di Salerno say this proposal from Everton could ‘unlock’ the deal for Dia.
Dia managed 16 goals and six assists from 33 games last season.
