Everton remain in the race to sign El Bilal Toure this summer.
According to Sky Sports, as shared on their Twitter page, Everton’s hopes of bringing El Bilal Toure to Goodison Park are still alive.
The Sky reporter states that Everton “remain in negotiations with Almeria over the transfer of El Bilal Toure…we’re told the 21-year-old Mali striker is set to decide his future in the coming days. Nothing is decided yet. Everton having already agreed a deal with the La Liga club…the battle for El Bilal Toure is not quite over yet.”
This news comes in spite of recent reports claiming Toure had elected to join Serie A side Atalanta, rather than the Toffees. Everton fans will be relieved to hear that there is still a chance that the striker makes his way to Merseyside in this transfer window.
oure’s progress so far
It is no surprise that the attacker is in such demand. The 15-cap Mali international showed some fine form last season, scoring 7 times in 20 appearances in the Spanish top flight. The Almeria No. 9 began the season particularly well, netting 3 times in his first 5 outings for the club. However, the second half of Toure’s campaign was hampered by an injury that halted his progress.
The £34 million that Everton have tabled for Toure represents something of a risk. There must be question marks over whether the player is ready to lead the line for a struggling Premier League side. However, there is no doubt that Toure has talent, and the potential to develop even further. He would be yet another exciting addition to Dyche’s attacking options.
