Latest Nottingham Forest transfer news as Emmanuel Dennis is linking to Atalanta, who have sold Rasmus Hojlund to Man Utd in a deal worth £72million
Atalanta are interested in signing Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis, according to a report.
The interest comes after Manchester United reached a deal in principle to sign Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund. United are understood to have agreed to pay £64million for Hojlund, with a further £8million in add-ons.
After selling their star striker, Atalanta are reportedly “thinking of” Dennis as a replacement, according to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.
They say Atalanta have “reactivated contacts” over a move for Dennis, who is said to be available for transfer this summer as head coach Steve Cooper looks to improve his squad.
The forward has also been linked with a move to Championship club Leeds United, who themselves are looking to bolster their attacking ranks after being relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season.
If Leeds retain their interest, they could spark something of a bidding war with Atalanta, depending on how the two clubs approach their next steps regarding a potential transfer.
Dennis joined Forest from Watford last summer after the Hertfordshire club were relegated from the Premier League. He moved to the Reds in a reported £10m move, signing a four-year deal.
Last season, he only scored twice and assisted twice in 19 Premier League appearances. Those were made up of six starts and 13 appearances from the bench.
