Crystal Palace have taken a cheeky dig at Chelsea on social media after they shared a clip of Michael Olise to the tune of ‘Chelsea Dagger’ after the Blues missed out on the star
Crystal Palace have taken a cheeky dig at Chelsea on social media after Michael Olise put pen-to-paper on a new deal at Selhurst Park.
Olise committed his long-term future to the Eagles, despite reports Chelsea had activated a £35million release clause in Olise’s previous contract. However, Palace have managed to convince the Frenchman to stick around.
And Olise has signed on the dotted line for an additional four years at Palace – and they announced it with a cheeky dig on social media. The Eagles shared a clip of Olise’s best moments for Palace, to the tune of The Fratellis smash hit: ‘Chelsea Dagger’.
And Palace fans were quick to spot the music: “Song choice is incredible, well played!”
“‘Chelsea Dagger’ f***ing love it,” a second added. While a third joked: “Bruh the song, smart with it!”
“Michael, Michael Olise turns down the Chelsea for me,” a fourth said. And another added: “Admin knew what they were doing with the song choice…”
Speaking on Thursday, Roy Hodgson said: “It’s the best possible news we could have. The decision has been his.
“We’ve been concerned, as one is concerned when a club of Chelsea’s stature start to take an interest in a player and suggest that a move to them might be the best bet.
“I’ve always hoped that wouldn’t be the case and that Michael would realise that, at such a young age, his future here is very bright. We can help him move very quickly to another level.”
