West Ham may benefit from Youssef En-Nesyri contract situation at Sevilla – Dharmesh Sheth

West Ham might be handed a boost in the race to sign Youssef En-Nesyri due to his current contract situation with Sevilla, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

As reported by the Evening Standard (23 August), David Moyes’ side are set to step up talks over a potential transfer for the 26-year-old Morocco international.

After selling Gianluca Scamacca previously during the transfer window, the Hammers are in need of a replacement, and Sheth believes that En-Nesyri’s contract status at Sevilla will help the East London outfit land their man.

“This is like a bit of deja vu because they’ve tried to sign the Morocco international striker Youssef En-Nesyri on a couple of previous occasions. They’re back in for him again and are in talks with Sevilla over a potential signing,” the Sky Sports reporter told GIVEMESPORT (24 August).

“Like Mohammed Kudus, En-Nesyri has entered the final two years of his contract, so you’d think with both of those players, if they don’t sign new contracts, both Ajax and Sevilla will probably see this transfer window as the time to get the most money in terms of a transfer fee.”

It is no secret that the East London outfit are in need of a new striker at the London Stadium this summer, with Danny Ings and Michail Antonio both now on the wrong side of 30, and therefore difficult to rely on for an entire season. At the age of 26, En-Nesyri would be a brilliant addition to the squad.

He adds a mixture of youth as well as experience and is still yet to enter the prime years of his career. He was a standout performer during Morocco’s historic run at the World Cup and could bring that underdog-style fight to the Premier League in order to help West Ham push on in the division.

Sheth makes an interesting point. With just two years remaining on his current deal, if he were to make it clear that he doesn’t plan on sticking around, it would certainly increase the LaLiga side’s temptation to sell.
