West Ham United walk away from Yuri Alberto transfer as Hugo Ekitike transfer update emerges – Dharmesh Sheth
West Ham are walking away from a deal to sign Brazilian striker Yuri Alberto from Corinthians, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports News journalist reported via Twitter on Wednesday night (30 August) that the Irons are now unlikely to pursue a last-ditch deal for the 22-year-old with “no resolution” reached on a transfer fee.
It is understood that West Ham are still interested in Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike and are in talks over a short-term contract for free agent Jesse Lingard.

Giving up – again
West Ham haven’t had the most success this transfer window.
While they managed to get the fee they wanted for Declan Rice and have made some very good signings in James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez, they’ve also been backed out of deals left, right and centre.
Initially, it looked as though the Ward-Prowse deal was dead after walking away from talks with Southampton before that was luckily revived.
But they’ve also snubbed moves for Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay at Manchester United [Fabrizio Romano].
It’s probably a good thing this deal for Alberto has died.
Brazilian news outlet GE claims that Corinthians only actually own 50 per cent of the economic rights of Alberto, with the remaining half still being owned by his former club Zenit St Petersburg.
West Ham would be wise to not touch deals like that with a barge pole because they really don’t seem like the kind of deals they want to be getting involved in.
Ekitike would be better so let’s hope David Moyes can wrangle out a deal for him.
