Fabrizio Romano: ‘Here we go’ as Glen Kamara medical scheduled at Leeds United

Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara is closing on a move to Leeds United with his medical taking place on Thursday, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist announced via his official Twitter account (31 August) that the customary checks can take place as a deal has been struck between the two teams, and with the player.

It follows the news reported by Sky Sports that Werder Bremen midfielder Ila Gruev has also been in Leeds for a medical ahead of a £5.1million move.

Leeds have been busy bolstering their ranks prior to the deadline on Friday (1 September) and are seemingly close to having two bodies in the door.

This is a move that has been on the works pretty much all the way through the summer and in true transfer window style it looks like it will be rubber-stamped at the 11th hour.

Leeds have lost a lot of players this window, whether through release clauses being met or exit loans following baffling clauses written into contracts, but slowly and surely Daniel Farke has seen his numbers and quality boosted.

Central midfield has been area that has been particularly lacking in depth, with summer signing Ethan Ampadu and prodigious teenage talent Archie Gray carrying the bulk of the workload so far.

Kamara adds experience of playing in continental football as well as international experience and will provide work rate, energy, a keen eye for a pass and a goal threat from midfield.

There has been some pretty decent business done by Leeds right at the death and now the focus will be on getting back to the Premier League.
