Sources: Man City sensation Ogwuru undergoing Norwich City medical after deal agreed
Man City youngster Daniel Ogwuru is set to join Norwich City, sources have told Football Insider.
The Championship club have agreed a deal for the 18-year-old forward and he is headed for a medical and to put the finishing touches to the transfer.
Ogwuru has impressed in City’s youth age groups, scoring 15 goals in 23 Under-18 Premier League games.
The former Bolton youngster has decided to leave City in search of a quicker pathway to first-team football at Norwich.
City snapped up Ogwuru from Bolton in 2019 when he was just 14 years old for a reported fee of around £100,000 with the League One side set to bank a hefty sum if the youngster were to reach the first team.
The striker has not yet been given the opportunity to feature for Pep Guardiola’s side but has impressed at youth level, scoring 15 goals in 26 games for the Under-18s.
Last term Ogwuru made 16 appearances for City’s Under-18s and Under-21s sides netting seven goals in those outings.
The powerful striker has the ability to play across the front line and helped City retain the Under-18 Premier League title in 2022.
Norwich are looking to add attacking reinforcements in an effort to progress up the Championship table.
The Canaries finished the 2022-23 campaign in 13th but have had a strong start to their new season.
Norwich are currently second in the Championship after four games of which they have won three and drawn one.
