FRENCH INTERNATIONAL DEFENDER THIBAUD JOINS LEICESTER CITY

Leicester City have completed the signing of French international defender Julie Thibaud on a two-year deal.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Foxes this morning.

Thibaud joins Leicester City from French club Bordeaux while the East Midlands side have paid an undisclosed fee to secure her services.

The 25-year-old started her senior career with Soyaux before joining Bordeaux in 2017. The player has featured for the French club on more than 100 occasions in the last six years.

On the international stage, Thibaud made her senior debut for France earlier this year. She was not selected by Les Bleues for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023.

After joining Leicester City, Thibaud said “I am very happy to sign for this Club. I feel like I can grow as a player and as a person here. This league is the future of women’s football and I want to be part of that.
