Mighten has yet to appear for the Reds this season. He played the first half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, however the deal was terminated in January by the Owls.

The Nigel Doughty Academy product appeared in 14 games for Wednesday and scored two goals, but he struggled to find a regular starting slot and was utilized in a variety of positions. He also appeared three times for Forest last season, including as a substitute in the Carabao Cup against Manchester United in February. After wearing the Garibaldi earlier in the season, another loan swap – which would have meant representing a third team – could not be agreed upon in the winter window.

“We didn’t even answer” – Director unhappy with Nottingham Forest’s late approach for signing

On August 31st, Nottingham Forest signed Murillo from Corinthians and a day later they took Andrew Omobamidele from Norwich City. These were the two centre-backs to arrive at the City Ground in the last window.

Prior to the duo’s arrival, the Tricky Trees failed in their efforts to sign CA Osasuna’s David García.

According to Estadio Deportivo, Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers had ‘bid for the defender more intensely’.

Steve Cooper’s team made a late approach for the 29-year-old, and according to the report, their attitude did not please the La Liga side.
This is confirmed by Osasuna sports director Braulio Vázquez during a press conference to discuss the club’s summer activities. He went on to say that they didn’t even respond to Nottingham Forest’s desire to sign the defender.

“We were contacted by an English club.” It appears to me to be a lack of respect. It was a statement of love’s intentions. “They wanted to meet with us three days before closing so that Garca could pass his medical exam,” he explai

“It’s surreal; I’ve never seen anything like it.” Fortunately, we did not respond. David himself realized that leaving would severely jeopardize our plans. His stance was not to impose anything. We couldn’t reject anything because there was nothing.”

Vázquez and Estadio Deportivo make no mention of Nottingham Forest’s approach for the Spain international, who has a €20 million release clause in his contract.

Garca has made five appearances for Spain this season and is presently preparing for the upcoming European Championship qualifications against Georgia and Cyprus
