Wolverhampton Wanderers express interest in former Manchester United star Jesse Lingard
According to Sky Sports, Wolves are the latest club to express an interest in Jesse Lingard.
Following his departure from Nottingham Forest at the end of last season, the Manchester United graduate has been training with West Ham.
According to reports, the London club may offer Lingard a permanent contract following his outstanding performance in training.
West Ham’s first-team coach, Kevin Nolan, stated that a deal “would happen” if both parties wanted it to.
Lingard was previously on loan at West Ham in 2021 for six months.
Lingard returned nine goals and five assists in sixteen Premier League appearances, making it a highly productive move for both player and organization.
Nolan highlighted the impact of the United player as one that “re-energised” West Ham at a time when their season was faltering.
Lingard characterized West Ham as his “second home” upon his return this summer, according to the Hammers’ boss.
However, a stumbling block may be thrown in the way of a lasting reunion.
According to Sky Sports, Wolves are “showing interest,” and an offer might be tabled within the next few days.
Lingard, as a free agent, is free to continue negotiating a contract after the summer transfer window closes.
He appears to be on the verge of a comeback to the Premier League. It remains to be seen whether this will be in claret and blue or old gold.
