After the trade was finalized, the defender sent a heartfelt greeting to Nottingham Forest.
Steve Cook, who left Nottingham Forest for QPR during the summer window, has sent a message to the Reds.
After leaving Nottingham Forest for Queens Park Rangers, former defender Steve Cook delivered an emotional thank-you letter to the club.
The 32-year-old has joined the Championship club on a permanent basis, following in the footsteps of his former Reds teammate Jack Colback.
Cook has thanked Forest on social media, reflecting on the best of his brief spell in Garibaldi red. He stayed at the club for 18 months, helping it to promotion and Premier League survival.
Cook tweeted on Thursday, “Thank you @NFFC.” The achievement we achieved in such a short period of time will be with me for the rest of my life.
“The playoff penalty, lifting the trophy at Wembley, and beating Liverpool at home are just a few of the memories I’ll cherish.” Best wishes for the future. See you soon at the Famous City Ground.”
He tweeted after signing with QPR, “Really pleased to have signed for QPR.” I’m excited to start working with the team and see where this new chapter takes us.”
Cook made 34 appearances for Forest, 20 of which came in the second half of the 2021-22 Championship season as the Reds won promotion to the Premier League through the play-offs.
With Cook at the back, the team had an impressive defensive record in the Championship, and he will be remembered most fondly for scoring his penalty in the play-off semi-final shootout against Sheffield United.
