‘Quality’ 20-year-old Wolves ace sends Gary O’Neil a message on loan debut
Wolves youngster Chem Campbell has found himself heading out on loan once again this season.
Campbell spent the second half of last season on loan with Wycombe Wanderers and has now been sent out for an entire season.
For Wycombe in League One, Campbell made 17 appearances while scoring three goals for the club.
This clearly caught the eye of others in the division as he was wanted by Charlton Athletic to join for the duration of 2023-24.
With one game not played for his new club, already Campbell has provided the goods, sending a message to his parent club, Wolves.
Campbell sends O’Neil a message
Campbell only joined Charlton on Wednesday and has already made his debut, with the 20-year-old staking a claim to be in the starting XI.
Campbell played 48 minutes for Charlton on his debut and assisted his sides only goal in a 2-1 loss against Oxford United.
This instant impact for his new team will have impressed Wolves boss Gary O’Neil which will be what Campbell would be hoping for.
Message sent, on a day when Wolves picked up their first win of the season, Campbell will be keen to continue this form and force himself into O’Neil’s plans.
Could Campbell be involved long term?
Campbell is a player many in Wolves have been excited by for a long time, he has been at the club all his career.
With the man who scouted him Jon Hunter-Barrett coining him as a player who possesses “individual quality”.
Campbell is incredibly versatile which is a trait O’Neil would value, with the rebuild that is likely to occur at Molineux in the next few years, we wouldn’t be surprised if he found himself in the squad.
He certainly has all the talent, so now we need to wait and see if he can shine further for Charlton, before evaluating him as a potential Wolves player.
