Nottingham Forest will rival Barcelona to sign 29-year-old midfielder

Nottingham Forest are already planning another January signing, with Guido Rodriguez firmly on their radar. The Reds attempted to sign the Real Betis player this summer, but the club ultimately picked other choices.

According to Estadio Deportivo, Forest will not be alone in their pursuit of the great player. Barcelona, Lyon, and Fenerbahce are all interested in signing the 29-year-old midfielder.

Rodriguez plays in the defensive midfield position. This summer, he was on Forest’s shortlist, but the club ultimately signed Ibrahim Sangare and Nicolas Dominguez.

Forest would have done well to hold off on this one. The seasoned performer’s contract will expire next summer, and the Reds might sign him on a free transfer. If they sign him in January, they may be able to get a good deal.

Argentina international has played 29 times for his country. He’s been at Real Betis since 2020, when he joined from Mexico’s top division, America.

In the summer, Forest signed 13 new players. Seven of them were signed and finalized on transfer deadline day, and it appears that Forest are already looking ahead to the next window.

The Reds are more conscientious about their purchases these days. With that in mind, it appears that the club is already prepared for January.

Forest is considering a move for Rodriguez.
Real Betis will have to make a huge decision in January. If the player does not sign a new deal, clubs will be interested in signing him in January.

Rodriguez is a reliable performer with worldwide experience. He will already know Dominguez from the national setup, which may persuade him to sign with Forest.

The Reds might be interested in getting a good deal. However, with Barcelona and Lyon in the mix, securing the veteran performer will be difficult.
