STEVE PARKIN insists it is business as usual when Wrexham’s owners attend games but he was delighted his side put on a show for Ryan Reynolds as the excellent run of form continued.
Following a week which saw the first episode in the hugely-anticipated second season of the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary being aired on Disney Plus, Deadpool star Reynolds was at The STóK Cae Ras to see the Reds beat Grimsby Town 3-0 on Saturday.
Phil Parkinson’s men produced one of the best performances of the season as goals from Ollie Palmer, Will Boyle and top scorer Elliot Lee secured a thoroughly deserved victory which extended the unbeaten record in League Two to seven games and leaves Wrexham fourth in the table, three points behind leaders Gillingham.
Wrexham have been thrust into the limelight since Reynolds and Rob McElhenney completed their high-profile of the club in February 2021 but assistant manager Parkin says the players and staff just go about their business as usual, even when the multi-millionaire actors are in town.
“To be honest we don’t pay much attention to that,” said Parkin.
“We are comfortable with the cameras around the place now, we are used to the people here and we trust them.
“We just get on with our job.
“It is always nice to put a good display on when the owners are here and I am sure Ryan enjoyed it.
“But it is about just making sure you get those three points in the bag and keep climbing the table.”
STEVE PARKIN has backed Paul Mullin to get back amongst the goals after Wrexham’s star striker made his first start of the League Two campaign.
