Tottenham has fired Chief Scout Leonardo Gabbanini, according to reports.
Tottenham has parted ways with top scout Leonardo Gabbanini, according to multiple sources, with writer Matt Law using the word sacked.
Gabbanini has departed Tottenham, according to Football London, after working closely with Ange Postecoglou throughout the last summer transfer window.
Spurs recruited James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Manor Solomon, Ashley Phillips, Alejo Veliz, and Brennan Johnson during this period.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Leonardo Gabbanini has left the club.
Gabbanini was hired by Fabio Paratici during his tenure as managing director of football, although he has since departed the club after little over a year.
According to Football London, the Italian was brought in to ‘grow and strengthen Spurs’ scouting network,’ but that looks to be no longer the case. Tottenham, on the other hand, is thought to be sticking with data-driven scouting.
Scott Munn started as the club’s new chief football officer today, and his first priority will be to find a director of football-type figure, but it looks that a new head scout is also needed in North London.
Web Opinion: Spurs
This is unusual given that Tottenham appears to have rediscovered their knack for scouting young players. However, I’m sure there’s a plan in the works to bring in a new top scout who fits Postecoglou’s demands at the Spurs.
