Wolverhampton University Issues Upside-Down Apology for Upside-Down Badge

Richard Jon Gough, a Wolverhampton Wanderers supporter, only wanted a cheap Wolves jersey. He’ll be getting a lot more than that after an unexpected mixup and unique apologies.

It all started when his £12 outfit arrived with the badge sewn on the wrong side.

Wolves reacted to his worry the next day with a beautifully tongue-in-cheek apology.

The letter was not only printed upside down, but it also made fun of the Wolves’ disastrous season, which saw them demoted from the Championship.

Perhaps more crucially for Mr. Gough, they offered to make amends. Instead of a new shirt, he’ll get a ticket to Wolverhampton’s next home game as well as a visit to the dressing room to meet the players. For £12, this is a real steal!

The following is the whole transcription, courtesy of Dirty Tackle:

Regards, Richard

I’m sorry to hear you got a shirt with an upside-down emblem on it.

Although we’ve lately been riding the crest of a wave, we pride ourselves on the quality of our shirts, and we surely don’t earn a medal of honor on this occasion.

However, the world may often appear better upside down – just look at last year’s league standings.

Please accept our apologies, as well as a ticket (printed correctly) to our home game against Shrewsbury on March 15th. We’ll also take you inside the Dressing Room before the game to meet the players and have both jerseys autographed.

Thank you for your continued support.

Best wishes

Grayson, Matt
