Adam Forshaw has been signed by Norwich City.
Norwich City have signed midfielder Adam Forshaw to a one-year contract extension with the club.

The 31-year-old midfielder has been a free agent since his contract with Leeds United expired at the end of the 2022/23 Premier League season.

Originally from Liverpool, he progressed through the Everton Academy, where he played alongside Shane Duffy, and finally made two senior appearances for the Toffees.

After that, he went on to play for Brentford, where he guided them to League One promotion and was voted the competition’s player of the year.

He was also a member of the squads that promoted Middlesbrough and Leeds United to the Premier League.

He’ll be wearing the number 29 shirt for the Canaries.

“I’ve watched the games in the first few weeks and been really impressed,” Forshaw said of his decision to join the team. “I couldn’t wait to get in and try to be a part of it.”

“One of the main reasons I came here is that they have a fantastic chance this year.” A solid balance of huge characters and experience, with plenty of youth in the remainder of the team.

“The head coach has been there and done it before, so everything is in place for us to go out and be successful.”Adam Forshaw has already had Jesse Marsch's message on Leeds United pecking order - Beren Cross - Leeds Live

“We always had the feeling that we wanted to add another player into the midfield areas, and we’re delighted that we’ve been able to bring in a player of Adam’s quality,” said head coach David Wagner.

“He is very familiar with this league and has a lot of experience at this level.” With all we’ve heard about his character and demeanor, I have a feeling he’ll be terrific for our squad’s dynamic, both on and off the field.”
