‘Alex Neil, I shall miss you… finest manager ever!’ says the letter’s cover, and it continues (sic):

‘To Alex Neil, I shall miss you, as will everyone else at the beam.

‘My favorite memories of you include beating Hibs, beating Celtic, and seeing you as a mascot in the first play-off. I also like the fact that we thrashed Motherwell 5-0 and 4-0. I like the 10-2 score.

‘From Fraser, the first play-off mascot.’

‘I’m absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to manage a club of the stature of Norwich – it’s an exciting challenge at a huge club and one that I’m looking forward to,’ Neil said on the club’s official website.

‘I’m overjoyed to have the opportunity to lead a team of Norwich’s scale – it’s an interesting task at a massive club that I’m looking forward to.

‘I’ve seen a lot of Premier League and Championship games over the years, and I’ve always been pleased with Carrow Road and the Norwich supporters, as well as the way they get the stadium moving when they play.’

It’s a forward-thinking club with a terrific infrastructure and tremendous aspirations, which align with mine.

‘Of course, I’m sad to leave Hamilton, a fantastic club that has been such an important part of my life for so long. But when a chance like this with a club like Norwich presents itself, you seize it.
