Injury expert shares if Dele Alli set to return for Everton v Liverpool post groin surgery
Everton attacker Dele Alli is set to be ruled out until the Liverpool game after he’s undergone a groin surgery, ensuring he’ll be out for the Arsenal clash, according to Ben Dinnery.
The injury expert claims that he will be out for over a month and has mooted a potential return date of 21 October.
The Toffees will be travelling to Anfield then and the England international is expected to be available for selection then.
Dinnery wrote on Twitter, “Bamidele Alli – Groin Surgery #EFC Expected Return: 21-10-2023 Status: Ruled Out.”
Derby return?
To say it’s been an eventful few years for Alli would be a massive understatement, given how tough it’s been for him.
He’s opened up about his mental health issues, childhood trauma, and injuries, among other things, and is battling to win his spot back in the team.
His loan spell last season did not pan out as many thought it would and that’s certainly not what the Toffees would’ve wanted.
However, if Sean Dyche is satisfied with what he’s seeing from the English attacker in training, there’s every reason this could be his comeback season.
Alli has proven in the past just how deadly he can be on his day and it’s all about channelling that to get the best out of him.
The former Tottenham Hotspur attacker can play multiple attacking positions and he could be an asset if used correctly this season.
