Jacob Ramsey of Aston Villa is in contention to play against Legia Warsaw, according to an injury expert.

Dr. Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has joined us as an exclusive writer. He’ll be sharing his thoughts on Aston Villa’s injury situation every week…

According to Dr Rajpal Brar, Aston Villa attacking midfielder Jacob Ramsey might return from injury against Legia Warsaw.

On Thursday (21 September), Unai Emery’s team went to the Polish Army Stadium to face Legia in a UEFA Europa League group stage match.

According to the injury specialist, the 22-year-old has cleared the most of the marks, which should allow him to return to first-team football.

Dr Brar, a physical therapist and sports scientist, informed Villa News about his injuries and lack of match fitness:

“He appears to have cleared the majority of markers to return to training, so I wouldn’t expect him to have lighter sessions if he’s already been able to get through them without issue.”

“After missing several games, there’s a good chance he’s now in contention to play for Villa.”

“He’s been out with an ankle injury but has trained with the group for around a week so that’s an indicator he’s on the right track.”
Ramsey was in training at Bodymoor Heath on Tuesday, according to the Express and Star on September 20.

While he’s unlikely to be inserted into the starting lineup, Emery will undoubtedly welcome him return. How Gerrard has helped turn Ramsey into an Aston Villa superstar | Goal.com Nigeria

With European commitments, he will feel the need to rotate his team more frequently, and Ramsey’s flexibility might see him come off the bench for a variety of different players.

In other Aston Villa news, a veteran attacker has been ruled out of the club’s future games after suffering a Grade 3 muscle rupture.
