DANIEL FARKE CONFIRMS £15M LEEDS UNITED PLAYER IS OUT OF HIS PLANS
Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has stated that winger Helder Costa would not be considered for selection since he wishes to quit the club.
Helder Costa wants to leave Leeds United and ‘won’t be engaged’ in his search for a new club.
With three wins in the previous five games, the Whites are making inroads in the Championship.
Leeds manager Daniel Farke has a track record of leading promotion drives, and the club is hopeful he can do the same in West Yorkshire.
One player who will not be a part of the tour is winger Costa, who is no longer in Farke’s plans.
Daniel Farke weighs in on Helder Costa’s future.
Farke spoke to Leeds Live ahead of his Whites’ trip to Southampton this weekend.
The topic of winger Costa came up, despite the fact that he has yet to play a single minute for the Whites this season.
The 29-year-old has returned to Leeds after spending last season on loan at Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.
Costa was supposed to depart Leeds permanently during the summer, but this has not occurred – and he will not play for Leeds.
Costa, according to Farke, wants to go and is ‘not in our plans’ at Elland Road.
Farke went on to say that Costa ‘won’t be involved’ while Leeds try to find a way for him to go.
“Nothing has changed,” Farke replied. “Helder’s wish was that he relocate. Everything is done professionally. We’re working on a solution, but he’s not one of them. I believe Helder
Costa is facing a difficult few months.
Leeds paid a hefty £15 million price for Costa after first loaning him to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It’s probably fair to say that Costa hasn’t shown to be a good value for money.
Costa only has three goals and three assists in 23 appearances after making the switch permanently before going on loan to Valencia.
Costa is now entirely out of the picture at Leeds and faces a difficult season as transfer windows across the world close.
If Leeds and Costa can find an arrangement to pay off Costa’s contract, he will be without a club until January.
That is far from ideal, but it appears to be a road Leeds may take in order to get Costa out of the club.
