Terriers assistant Narcis Pelach has departed the club following reports he is set to join David Wagner’s coaching staff at Norwich City.
Huddersfield Town confirmed on Thursday afternoon that they and the Catalan had ‘come to an agreement’ over his decision to resign from his post after three years in the job.
It had earlier been claimed that Pelach had interviewed for the managerial vacancy at newly-relegated Blackpool, who will be back in League One next season – but it has since emerged that Pelach is instead expected to make the move to Carrow Road to work under former Town boss Wagner.
Town managing director Dave Baldwin said: “On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to thank Narcís for his dedication to the club over the past three seasons. He now wants to explore a new challenge, and the timing works for the club too as we look to start afresh with a new beginning.
“Narcís has been a very popular person at the Millers Oils High Performance Complex and we wish him all the best for the future.”
Pelach arrived at Town alongside Carlos Corberan in the summer of 2020 and opted to stay at the club when the head coach abruptly quit his post last year alongside the other assistant he had brought to the club, Jorge Alarcon. That pair now hold those same roles at West Bromwich Albion.
34-year-old Pelach had two caretaker manager spells last season, filling in to guide the side to victory over Cardiff in between Danny Schofield and Mark Fotheringham, then taking the reins again for away defeats to Wigan Athletic and Stoke City when the Scot made way for Neil Warnock.
Town are currently managerless as they await the green light on a proposed takeover by American businessman Kevin Nagle.
