Kemba Walker Discusses Being ‘Really Motivated’ After Signing Knicks Contract
Kemba Walker is thrilled to be returning home. The New York native, who agreed to a buyout with the Oklahoma City Thunder and inked a two-year, $17.9 million deal with the Knicks this summer, said it was the appropriate time in his career to return to the Big Apple.
“I believe it is. Everything. “It was perfect timing,” he told reporters on Tuesday. “Very motivated. I’m overjoyed that these folks believe in me. That’s all I require. All I need is someone to believe in me. This group does, and I appreciate it.”
The Knicks have been active this summer, signing Walker and Evan Fournier in free agency, re-signing Derrick Rose, Nerlens Noel, Alec Burks, and Taj Gibson, as well as agreeing to a long-term agreement with Julius Randle and selecting Quentin Grimes, Miles McBride, and Jericho Sims.
Do those moves vault the Knicks, who made the playoffs last season, to the top of the Eastern Conference?
