Super League champions Wigan Warriors have signed prop Sam Eseh from Wakefield Trinity on a two-year deal, with the option of a third year.
The 20-year-old made his first-team debut for Trinity in 2023, appearing in 15 games but failing to assist them retain their Super League position.
Eseh also spent time on loan in 2022 with Barrow and Featherstone, scoring three tries in 19 games.
“I’m really excited to be signing a deal with the Warriors,” he stated.
“Growing up playing rugby I’ve always known Wigan as a club that is relentless in anything they do and that’s something I can’t wait to be a part of.”
Former Trinity manager Mark Applegarth, who had worked with Eseh through the age levels, gave the East Leeds juvenile his Super League debut against Huddersfield in March.
After signing a professional contract in 2021, he played the rest of the season as an off-the-bench attacking option for Belle Vue.
“Sam is a player we have been tracking for a few years, and it is the right time for him to join us,” Wigan manager Matt Peet said.
