T.J. Houshmandzadeh on Ja’Marr Chase’s Frustration: ‘Want to Stop That, They Better Start Winning’
CINCINNATI — Former Bengals wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh understands Ja’Marr Chase’s frustration with the Bengals offense during a 1-3 start to the season.
Chase was a bit heated in general following Sunday’s loss to Tennessee as the offense searched for answers (12.3 points per game, 31st in the NFL).
“Let me tell you something. The more they lose, their interviews are going to get angrier and angrier,” Houshmandzadeh said while hosting Airing It Out on Fubo Sports. “So if they want to stop that, they better start winning. He can catch 10 passes for 150 yards, and he’ll be cool with that, but if they lose [that game], he’s not going to be cool with it. He’ll feel like he did his part, but it doesn’t matter. So they better figure this out because you’re going to have your best players show a side of them that you haven’t seen because they have only experienced success. And when I say ‘they’ I mean Joe, Tee Higgins, and Ja’Marr Chase, because since they’ve come into the league, all they have done is win. They haven’t experienced this type of adversity. So it’s going to be incumbent on Zac Taylor to figure out what is wrong and right the ship immediately.”
