Panthers confirm dual signing of Hosking and Cogger

With roster spots available following the departure of some key players, the Penrith Panthers have added Zac Hosking and Jack Cogger for 2023.

25-year-old Hosking made quite the impression for the Brisbane Broncos in 2022 after debuting, played in four games, and will sign a two-year deal with Penrith.

A talented forward, Hosking has twice won the NSW Cup Player of the Year award and gives the Panthers back-row further depth.

As for Cogger, he returns to an NRL side having spent the last two years in England with Huddersfield.

Cogger joins the Panthers on a one-year deal with the Berala Bears junior playing in 42 NRL games to date with the Newcastle Knights and the Canterbury Bulldogs.NRL contract news: Jack Cogger returns to Newcastle Knights on three-year deal | Sporting News Australia

Panthers CEO Matt Cameron welcomed the new duo to the club and knows that both will make the most of their chances.

“On behalf of all at Panthers, we look forward to welcoming Zac and Jack to the club ahead of the new season,” Cameron said.

“Jack joins the club with NRL experience and will add depth to the Panthers top 30 squad.NRL 2023, Penrith Panthers v Manly Sea Eagles, recruit, Zac Hosking, left edge, injuries, signings, | NRL.com

“The opportunity Jack has to work alongside representative halves Nathan Cleary and Jarome Luai will also be beneficial to his game.

“Zac’s experience and capabilities make him an excellent addition to our squad and we’re delighted to welcome him on board.

“We believe Zac will really flourish in Panthers colours.”
