Joshua Palmer injured his knee in Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Palmer did not practice and the Chargers placed him on injured reserve ahead of their Monday night game against the New York Jets.
Palmer will be absent for at least four weeks.

The Los Angeles Chargers were without their star receiver for the remainder of the season.
Star wide receiver Mike Williams suffered a torn ACL in Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings.
He injured his knee on screen in the third quarter.
Williams has 19 receptions for 249 yards and a touchdown in the first three games.
Los Angeles also had another receiver for most of the season.
Jalen Guyton will be another receiver for most of the 2023 season.
Guyton suffered a torn ACL in the third week of the 2022 season.
Ezoic Los Angeles placed him on the physically disabled list on August 29, 2023.
The Chargers activated Guyton from the PUP list and he He got playing time yesterday, played in 33 snaps and was targeted twice without a reception.


Who will replace Palmer?
Expect rookie Quentin Johnston to get more playing time in Palmer’s absence.
The Chargers took Johnston in round 1, 21 overall, in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Johnston hasn’t played much this season, accounting for 45% of the offensive snaps.
So far, Johnston has 14 receptions for 128 yards.
All he has to do is keep being targeted or make a great catch, and that will boost his confidence.
Johnston has a lot of potential.
Expect Jalen Guyton to replace Quentin Johnston.
Guyton is one of the fastest players on the team.
He will be one of the Chargers’ top threats moving forward.
Don’t forget their veteran receiver!

Keenan Allen will get the majority of the targets for the remainder of the season.
Allen is their number one and their most important receiver on the team.
He is having another great season with 62 receptions for 720 yards and six touchdowns.
Hopefully Allen can stay healthy this season.
Los Angeles cannot afford to let him get hurt.
What games will Palmer miss?
Because Palmer was placed on injured reserve before the game, he will miss another three weeks.
Palmer will miss Week 10 against the Detroit Lions, Week 11 against the Green Bay Packers and Week 12 against the Baltimore Ravens.
Ezoic Palmer could return Week 13 against the New England Patriots if he is placed on injured reserve before the game is counted.
If not, he could be activated in Week 14 against the Denver Broncos.
Let’s hope Joshua Palmer recovers quickly.
