Pathways staff undertake Mental Health First Aid training

In a first for NRL clubs, the Parramatta Eels’ 2024 Elite Pathways staff members recently completed youth mental health first aid training.

The Eels, as a club, have determined that mental health concerns need significant attention. The Eels want to encourage players at every level of the club—from youth to NRL and NRLW—to adopt good, health-conscious behaviors.

The vast majority of people in the contemporary era have experienced poor mental health, either directly or indirectly.

The Eels conducted training to help important Jersey Flegg, SG Ball, Tarsha Gale, Harold Matthews, and Lisa Fiaola Cup staff members better grasp the warning signs and symptoms of mental health issues in order to foster an atmosphere where players are given the best chance to thrive.

The goal of this training is to significantly improve staff members’ lives in addition to helping players on the Eels’ routes.

The Eels take great pride in going above and beyond the NRL’s basic regulations in order to support the club’s goal of optimizing the health and wellbeing of its players and employees.
