Everton have now joined the race for Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams having made contact over a potential move.

Tyler Adams continues to attract major interest after Everton made an enquiry into signing the Leeds United midfielder.

That is according to a report from the Daily Mail, who claim that Everton are interested in bringing Adams to Goodison Park.

It’s suggested that Brighton and Hove Albion have joined the race and are weighing up a £25million offer for the American.

The report adds that Aston Villa, Everton and Nottingham Forest have all made enquiries into signing Adams this summer.

It’s highly unlikely that Adams stays at Leeds following their relegation to the Championship.

TEAMtalk claimed last week that Adams has asked Leeds to let him go this summer as he wants to play in the top flight.

90Min reported earlier in June that Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur all want Adams.

That means it will be hard to Everton to land Adams but Sean Dyche’s men have at least registered their interest.

Tyler Adams a surprise target for Everton

Everton may well need to land a midfielder this summer with Belgian international Amadou Onana attracting interest.

Adams would be a surprise replacement though with Onana impressive as a box-to-box player with elite athletic ability to get up and down the pitch.

Adams is maybe more directly comparable to Idrissa Gueye in terms of stature and defensive output, and Everton may view him as a younger option there.

Abdoulaye Doucoure is staying and James Garner is still an option too, so we had maybe expected Everton to go for a more creative midfield player.

Adams isn’t that kind of player but he can add so much energy to Sean Dyche’s side, possibly making him a prime target.

Hailed as a ‘special’ player by former Leeds boss Jesse Marsch, Adams should be playing in the Premier League – and Everton will hope to win the race.
