The former first-round pick was back at practice for the Packers on Monday after going through the wringer.

The past 385 days have been a whirlwind for Green Bay Packers third-year cornerback and former first-round pick Eric Stokes.
Last season, he suffered a torn meniscus and Lisfranc injury sustained in a game against the Detroit Lions on November 6th, which limited him to the second half of his second season.
Although he recovered from both injuries, another setback, a hamstring issue, prevented him from joining the Packers’ roster in early 2023 as originally planned.

He first returned to the field on Oct.
22, when the Packers traveled to Denver for a meeting with the Broncos.
Stokes never played a single defensive snap and was instead relegated to four snaps on special teams.
Another hamstring injury reared its ugly head and the Packers placed him on injured reserve.
Stokes missed the Packers’ last five games, but returned to practice on day #386.
Starting Monday, the Packers have 21 days to decide whether to add him to the 53-man roster or waive him.
If he chooses the latter, he will be placed on injured reserve for the remainder of the season.
The period will close on Dec.
18, the day after the Packers host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Lambeau Field.
“It would be weird to ignore the past, but I know he’s really confident right now and feels really good,” head coach Matt LaFleur said Monday.
.
“It’s great to have him there.
“Despite this situation, he maintains a great attitude and is a great teammate.
So it’s great for him to be back there.
That’s great.
” Finding where Stokes fits For defensive coordinator Joe Barry, the secondary is no longer a “champagne problem.
” If anything, Stokes’ group will become unrecognizable.
Since Stokes was last seen, the Packers traded Rasul Douglas and a fifth-round pick to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a third-round pick, and Jaire Alexander has been plagued by injuries of his own.
There is.
The two-time All-Pro is no longer dealing with the back injury that sidelined him for part of the year earlier, but his recent shoulder injury hasn’t helped him.

right.
The Packers have relied on seventh-round rookie Carrington Valentine, who provided a pleasant surprise after being thrown into the fire.
Since Douglas was traded and Valentine was named a regular starter, he has been targeted 23 times, but has only given up 97 yards, two pass breakups and nine receptions.
He allowed opponents a passer rating of 68.
8 in those four games, according to Pro Football Focus.
Stokes has a chance to play Sunday night and his appearance against Patrick Mahomes would definitely be welcome, but it’s unlikely.
It’s only natural to rely on the Packers to prevent further accidents.
